Igor's Egg
Welcome to Amaris...

A planet that has stopped spinning. A side of perpetual daylight, scorched into a lawless desert wasteland. And a side of endless night, frozen over into barren tundra.

In the middle - The Verge, a ring of twilight and dawn, the only remaining temperate area on the planet.

The Verge rules over the whole world with an iron fist ... but there are those from both the Day and the Night who would stand up to their oppressor and finally spin Amaris once again.

Solan Hall - Guitar

Not much is known about Solan Hall except whispers of his deeds that pass between the small settlements of Dayside. It is said that Solan's family fled the Lost Hills when he was only a child and emigrated to The Verge, where he grew up as an impovershed trouble maker. Not much else is known about him, except that he's a wanted man. He lives his life on the run, alone but for his samurai sword and his guitar… until he comes to Nimbo village, where his quest will change forever.

Ardhana - Violin

Ardhana is from Nimbo, a settlement in the heart of the Dayside desert, built from the ruins of an ancient mech colliseum. As the daughter of the Nimbo Leader, Ardhana spent much of her youth alone playing her violin instead of playing with other kids. That all changed when The Verge came. Ardhana has grown into the leader of a rebellion, inspiring the hearts and souls of those who would fight The Verge to the end of their days.

Logi Prime - Bass

Logi hails from Soo, a technologically-advanced city beneath the surface of the Nightside. When The Verge began its expansion, Soo struck a deal to be left alone at the cost of a high energy tax. That energy is generated by the hard working Soo men and women who turn the cogs by hand for endless cycles. Logi could not sit idly by, and so he set out from Soo Station with his bass guitar to find others who would stand up the to The Verge.

Cayden Lynos - Drums

Cayden grew up as a slave in Ryzetta, capital of The Verge. He was eventually promoted to be General Lysander's personal slave "assistant". Compliant on the surface, he has been secretly harboring hatred and plotting revenge for years - a plan that might finally come to fruition when Lysander is sent to take Nimbo and squash the rebellion.

FM - Keyboards

Parmenio Decker is a member of the Mechanics Guild of Soo, which revives ancient technology found in the ruins of Old Amaris. His fellow Guildsmen dubbed him "FM" after a small radio device he retro-engineered and subsequently used to broadcast his piano music to the working cog-turners. His only friend is his pet Chom, who he found dying in the lower tunnels but saved by transplanting half of its body with an elaborate but tiny cog machine.

Scholars have long debated the choices behind Dreckin’s action. As the Emperor had many history books burned during the Great Purge some fifty years after his installment, it is no wonder why there has been such debate.

Why lock the planet’s rotation? Or, more appropriately, why stop its internal gears so that one side stayed forever locked to the sun, the other to the stars?

Was this an attempt to burn the more heretical Dayside to a crisp? To punish the minds of the Nightside with permanent chill? Or was this an attempt to stop what was then thought to be the mythical “Sound”?  No one knows.

The revolution that came seemingly sprung up over night. The battles that followed left enough alive to rebuild, but few firsthand accounts of the aftermath. What is certain, though, is that the peace that he promised never materialized.

The world had stopped spinning, but it refused to stand still.
